Entry 002 - Building the Foundation

Hi Founding Families,

I wanted to share a quick update on where things stand with Budget Berry.

Right now we are in the early design phase and working closely with our product design team to make sure we build this the right way from the start. Hardware products require thoughtful planning, and this stage is about making sure the foundation is solid before anything else.

As we move through this process, there are a few things guiding our decisions.

First, Budget Berry needs to feel natural and engaging for kids. The device should feel friendly, intuitive, and something children genuinely enjoy interacting with in their everyday routines.

Second, the experience needs to feel clear and simple for families. Money should be visible and easy to understand, helping children see their savings grow and understand what they are working toward.

Most importantly, we want Budget Berry to support real learning. Children learn through repetition, interaction, and feedback, so the product is being designed to reinforce saving in a way that feels tangible and meaningful.

This phase is all about working closely with our design team and getting the foundation right.
